Nebraska football needs a running back in the 2024 class and the Huskers have been projected to flip Boise State commitment Dylan Riley.
The decommitment of Kewan Lacy still stings, especially as he’s now trending to commit to Alabama. That’s how talented he is. You can also see why Nebraska football wasn’t able to hold his commitment.
That has left Nebraska football scrambling a bit at running back in the 2024 class. There weren’t any obvious targets to push for and while there was some talk of other backs making visits, it looks like Nebraska has zeroed in on a new target — Dylan Riley, a three-star running back committed to Boise State.
Riley is ranked 1,808 overall according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings. Riley is from Rancho Verde, California, and has been committed to the Broncos for only about a month.
Boise State just fired its head coach, so that has opened the door for a flip, and Nebraska football will host Riley for an unofficial visit this weekend. The Huskers haven’t extended an offer yet, but it seems like one is going to come this weekend if all goes well.
Riley is supposed to take an official visit in December according to Bryan Munson of Husker Online, which is another sign that Nebraska is trending in the right direction. Munson has also put in an expert prediction for the Huskers to pull off a flip.
There haven’t been any other projections at this point for the Huskers. But, outside of Washington State, this would be just the second Power-5 offer for Riley, and with the movement relating to the Boise State coaching staff, you’d have to think that a Nebraska offer, if it comes, would be pretty attractive.
