Nebraska football just landed the top-ranked commitment of its 2025 class, but the Huskers aren’t resting on their laurels when it comes to the recruiting trail.
There was just one player with a scholarship offer who visited for the Northern Iowa game. It was four-star tight end Matt Ludwig of Montana, a fast-rising prospect in the 2026 class.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder is ranked as the No. 16 tight end in the 2026 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s also ranked No. 252 overall.
Nebraska football was the first major program to offer Ludwig, out of Billings, Montana. But soon a flurry of offers would come from the likes of Michigan, Georgia, and Texas A&M. The kid has six SEC offers plus Oregon, Penn State, and some other big names.
However, Ludwig has a family tie to the coaching staff and this was his fourth visit already to the Nebraska football program. Soon after the Cornhuskers win over Northern Iowa, Steve Wiltfong put in an expert prediction for the On3 prediction machine which now gives Nebraska a 94-percent chance to land Ludwig’s commitment.
Cam Taylor-Britt with the interception the year
Former Nebraska Cornhuskers standout Cam Taylor-Britt made his presence felt on Sunday for the Bengals as he made an incredible one-handed interception of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Unfortunately, for Taylor-Britt and former Nebraska Cornhuskers quarterback Zac Taylor who is the Cincy head coach, Kansas City was able to win the game with a walk-off field goal. Still, this Taylor-Britt interception is worth another watch.
Nebraska football part of a top-25 matchup
Nebraska football moved up two spots in the AP poll to No. 22. Illinois, the Huskers opponent on Friday night also cracked the top 25, meaning the Cornhuskers will host a battle of top-25 teams. It also means that Nebraska football can end its eight-year losing skid against ranked opponents.
It’s a huge game and already, I can’t wait.
