Welcome to Husker Big Red Daily, your daily stop for the latest Nebraska football news, recruiting buzz, transfer portal updates, and Huskers headlines. Here’s a quick look at the latest storylines surrounding Nebraska athletics.

On the Wednesday injury report, Oregon quarterback Dante Moore was ruled out for Saturday’s game against Nebraska football.

Thursday night, star wide receiver Evan Stewart was downgraded to doubtful. Stewart has 27 receptions for 312 yards this season.

Oregon hasn’t announced its starting quarterback. Stewart could still play. Jamal Rule was listed as doubtful before the Maryland game but was upgraded to questionable. Nebraska football held him out, but Dana Holgorsen said he could have played.

Facing Oregon on the road still won’t be easy. The Ducks are one of the most talented programs in the country, and their backs are against the wall, too. The defense has had some great moments, while the offense looked great against USC with Dylan Raiola at quarterback.

It should be fascinating either way.

Nebraska volleyball improves to 18-0

The Huskers extended their regular-season winning streak to 49 matches with a dominant 3-0 sweep of Northwestern on the road Thursday night (25-17, 25-14, 25-15).

Nebraska’s defense was elite, holding the Wildcats to a .030 hitting percentage. The Huskers hit .287, led by Andi Jackson, who had 10 kills, six blocks and four digs. Jackson hit .600, marking her fifth straight match above .500. Harper Murray added nine kills, four digs and three blocks. Kenna Cogill contributed seven blocks, while Bergen Reilly had 39 assists, four digs and three blocks.

Nebraska basketball is back

Fred Hoiberg’s team will return to game action for the first time since its Sweet 16 loss to Iowa. The Huskers return Pryce Sandfort and Braden Frager for what could be one of the most highly anticipated seasons in Nebraska basketball history.

Nebraska will face BYU on the road in an exhibition game. Tipoff is at 8 p.m. CST on ESPN+.
