Welcome to Husker Big Red Daily, your daily stop for the latest Nebraska football news, recruiting buzz, transfer portal updates, and Huskers headlines. Here’s a quick look at the latest storylines surrounding Nebraska athletics.

The Nebraska football team suffered a costly loss to the Oregon Ducks last Saturday, which is reflected in the latest bowl projections.

Nebraska football is 5-2. The Huskers are one win away from being bowl-eligible for the third consecutive season under Matt Rhule.

Multiple outlets had the Huskers going to the Citrus Bowl last week. Now, there is just one. The ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa Bay seems to be the most popular destination, although Brett McMurphy of ON3 has Nebraska football going up against old head coach Scott Frost and UCF in the Cactus Bowl.

Matt Rhule to visit 5-star tight end Ahmad Hudson

Nebraska football is still pushing to flip five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson, the LSU commitment who is 6-foot-6 and 250 pounds. The freakish athlete would also play hoops for Fred Hoiberg.

Hudson took a surprise visit to Nebraska football for the Maryland game. That left the door open for a flip. Experts have said they think that Hudson will stick with LSU. Yet, Matt Rhule is heading to Louisiana for an in-person visit this week all the same, according to Bryan Munson of Husker Online.

You have to give Rhule credit for trying. It doesn’t seem like the Nebraska head coach would waste his time if he thought the recruitment was over and done.

The Huskers have done everything they can in this recruitment. They have even shown they can compete with any program in college football, including the defending national champions. Nebraska has to finish games, but getting a dude like Hudson would certainly help with that.
