It feels like a big commitment could be coming for Nebraska football

Trying to interpret things on social media can be a dangerous game, but it’s one that Nebraska football fans are playing after director of personnel/recruiting Keith Williams posted a GIF that resembles one of the things he would normally post for a commitment.

Four-star offensive tackle commitment Timi Aliu re-posted it and said, “Just wait…” along with the shushing face emoji. There have been rumors about a commitment. However, there haven’t been any new crystal ball projections from 247 Sports or any new expert projections for the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.

It could be a surprise commitment in the 2028 class, but then why would Timi Aliu, a 2027 recruit, be posting about it? Potentially, if it were someone from his school, but there is no recent visitor who meets that criteria.

Of course, some Nebraska football fans are allowing themselves to dream that the Huskers are going to flip the commitment of five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson. He has been dominant on the basketball court recently, too. He took an official visit to Lincoln in June, despite being committed to LSU.

Insiders have said for weeks that Nebraska feels good about where it stands with the 6-foot-6, 239-pound tight end. Hudson has an offer to play basketball for Nebraska, too, and the idea of pairing him with five-star QB commitment Trae Taylor is an exciting one.

Nebraska has had some great tight ends over the years, but none quite as talented as Hudson.

No experts have projected a flip, although they have expressed confidence for weeks. It almost feels like there would be more buzz if it were happening. The big takeaway is that good news is coming.

Now, we just have what it is.
