Welcome to Husker Big Red Daily, your daily stop for the latest Nebraska football news, recruiting buzz, transfer portal updates, and Huskers headlines. Here’s a quick look at the latest storylines surrounding Nebraska athletics.

The Nebraska football program is building a ton of momentum on the recruiting trail.

Beyond a class that already has four recruits committed in the top 110 overall, according to Rivals and 247 Sports, Nebraska is trending to land several 2027 recruits, but a slew of commitments could be coming this weekend or soon after.

We broke down three recruits most likely to commit this weekend, but there are seven official visitors this weekend who have the Huskers as the favorite, according to the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.

So expect the Huskers’ 11-man recruiting class to grow this weekend.

Nebraska basketball is ranked by ESPN as Missouri matchup is announced

The Huskers’ non-conference schedule in basketball is shaping up to be really fun. Nebraska added to that on Thursday, announcing a Dec. 12 matchup in Kansas City with the Missouri Tigers.

These two programs have met well over 200 times on the basketball court. The old Big-8 rivals have had some great battles on the hardwood, and this will be a nostalgic game.

I’d love for the Huskers to do a home-and-home with Kansas, the Big 8 everyone Nebraska fans loved to see the Huskers beat. Missouri was right up there, though in basketball, so kudos to Fred Hoiberg and Troy Dannen for making it happen, one year after the Huskers played Oklahoma on a neutral floor.

Nebraska played at Kansas State. It would be great to get something done with Kansas. In other news, Nebraska is ranked No. 22 by the ESPN Way-too-Early Top 25, which, honestly, strikes me as too low.

People are sleeping too much on Nebraska basketball and underestimating the importance of the return of Pryce Sandfort for his senior season. When you have an NBA-caliber player on a college team, it makes a massive difference.

Jordy Frahm named to All-WCWS team

Jordy Frahm was named to the All WCWS team on Thursday after Texas took home the national title. It’s a hard pill to swallow considering the Huskers were five outs away from eliminating the Horns.

Frahm was 1-2 as a starter, but pitched 10 innings to get the win in the opening game against Arkansas. She was also perfect against Texas going into the fifth inning, and was five outs away from a no-hitter, in addition to hitting a lead-off home run.

Frahm was a four-time All-American, the two-time player of the year, and the only player in college softball history to have 20 wins as a starting pitcher and 20 home runs in back-to-back-seasons.
