Nebraska Football got two Crystal Balls in their favor on Sunday morning, as 2024 athlete Evan Taylor has been projected to go to the program. Michael Bruntz and Mike Schaefer of Husker247 put the Crystal Balls in.

Taylor is currently not ranked in terms of stars in the 247Sports rankings. However, he is listed as the 20th overall athlete in the state of North Carolina.

Secondaries coach Evan Cooper is Taylor’s primary recruiter. Taylor has several offers from other schools, with the most notable one being Rutgers. He took a visit to Rutgers on June 2, and was part of the group that visited Nebraska on June 16.

Nebraska Football loaded at wide receiver

This is certainly an interesting Crystal Ball for the Nebraska football program. Wide receiver is a position that they do not lack depth in. It appears that they want to continue to add to the unit.

This is interesting because Nebraska football does not have a wide receiver in the 2024 class to this point. They do have wide receivers in the 2023 class, headlined by Malachi Coleman. Demitrius Bell, Jaidyn Doss, Brice Turner, Jaylen Lloyd, and Jeremiah Charles are the names that make up the 2023 class.

While there may appear to be a logjam of wide receivers with the 2023 class additions, there will be a lot of production leaving next season. Billy Kemp IV, Marcus Washington, and Josh Fleeks are all seniors. Nebraska is going to have to fill holes.

Nebraska football will need some of the incoming freshman to make a major impact next season. On top of that, they will also need depth to develop at the position as the current freshmen continue to grow. A commitment from Taylor would help Nebraska do so. The wide receiver room may look a bit crowded now, but there is definitely an eye for the future with this potential commitment.

Taylor’s ability to run after the catch and sharp route-running would undoubtedly benefit Nebraska. He measures in at six-foot-three, 180 pounds. He has big playmaking potential, and would be another get for Evan Cooper. Cooper has already had his hand in Mario Buford, Roger Gradney, and Bell. Now, he has a good chance of adding to that.
