Could another Nebraska football commitment be coming soon? 2024 linebacker Vincent Shavers appears to be trending heavily toward Nebraska football. The recruit’s father posted a video on Monday morning with some positive reviews for Nebraska.
The younger Shavers is a three-star recruit. He initially committed to Miami on May 19, and decommitted on December 15. That was the same day he took an official visit to Lincoln.
Crystal Ball Predictions has been put in for the linebacker as recently as this morning. Steve Wilfong put one in with a medium confidence score of six. He also was able to get some projections over the weekend.
Shavers would be a big get for Nebraska football. He takes good pursuit angles defensively, and is able to use his speed to close quickly. He has tremendous instincts, and can get to the football quickly.
Shavers would be a nice addition to a Nebraska linebacker room that was able to find their identity last year.
I like to thank Coach Rhule and his amazing staff for the hospitality they showed me and my family on the OV it was beyond more than I expected. The wait is over. LETS GO BIG RED!!!! pic.twitter.com/K5CEPwxk3B
Shavers would be the third Florida player in the 2024 class. He is the first traditional linebacker in the class. The class itself ranks 22nd overall nationally per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. There may be more additions to the class on Wednesday, when early National Signing Day takes place. Overall, this class is well-rounded and has talent on both sides of the football.
Shavers would be a good get for an aggressive Nebraska football defense under Tony White. A lot has transpired since his visit over the weekend, and it appears he has trending in the right direction. Of course, nothing is official until Wednesday. However, the tweet from his father is certainly a good indication that Nebraska football is close to flipping the linebacker. This would be another case of the coaching staff sealing the deal once a recruit gets onto campus.
