The Nebraska football team grabbed all the headlines over the weekend following a dominant victory over Colorado. On Tuesday night, the Nebraska volleyball team won its rivalry match — knocking off in-state rival Creighton in five sets (25-19, 25-16, 31-33, 16-25, 15-10).
Nebraska volleyball dominated early. Creighton hit just 0.70 in the first two sets. — the Bluejays, who were hitting over .300 for the season, hit just .209 overall. Nebraska volleyball hit .234 and got a stellar performance from Harper Murray who had 16 kills, 14 digs, and four blocks.
Andi Jackson was also incredible for the Huskers with 15 kills and hit .379. Merritt Beason also had a solid showing with 14 kills. Lindsay Krause also pitched in with 15 kills.
Don’t forget that Bergen Reilly was outstanding again with 57 assists, 13 digs, and three blocks. Lexi Rodriguez added 21 assists and two digs. She was also perfect in serve-receive.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers ranked fifth, will host now 14th-ranked Arizona State on Friday night.
Nebraska football projected to land another in-state recruit
It’s been a good week for Nebraska football recruiting as Christian Jones, the top-ranked player in the state in the 2025 class committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Jones said that the win over Colorado put him over the top. The blue-chip linebacker should be a perfect fit for the 3-3-5 defense and who wouldn’t want to be a Blackshirt after the way they dismantled Colorado on Saturday night?
It was a thing of beauty and it didn’t just impress Jones. Three-star tight end Isaac Jensen out of Millard South, is ranked No. 1 in the state of Nebraska in the 2026 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings at 458 overall, and has been projected by Steve Wiltfong of On3.com to commit to Nebraska.
The 6-foot-6 tight end is the latest elite prospect to come out of the state at the position. He’s not a blue-chip yet in the recruiting rankings but that’s only a matter of time.
Nebraska football was also projected to land in-state EDGE Jase Reynolds in the 2026 class and it appears that the Huskers are planting their flag early with 2026 in-state recruits.
