Matt Rhule and the Nebraska football program are about to go on a run of commitments.

We predicted it on Friday morning. We said there would be at least three commitments happening soon. Now, it feels like more, after three-star defensive lineman Errol Demontagnac, a 6-foot-3, 290-pound defensive lineman out of Florida, committed to Nebraska football on the first day of his official visit on Friday.

This wasn’t a huge shock if you have been paying attention. There was only one other visit on the schedule, Florida State next week, but several recruiting experts projected the high-upside D-line prospect to the Huskers before they were able to close out a commitment.

Demontagnac is ranked No. 855 overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings for the 2027 class. He had 86 tackles last season, 30 tackles for loss, and 14 sacks. The disruptive defensive lineman had 23 Power-4 offers. Michigan, Indiana, Florida State, North Carolina, Arkansas, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Illinois were among the teams that were in the mix.

More good news coming for Nebraska football recruiting

Nebraska has 12 commitments total. Demontagnac was the first on the defensive line, and he seems capable of playing multiple spots on the interior.

The Huskers have six blue-chip commitments via the 247 Sports composite rankings, which has them ranked 25th in the team rankings. They have four top-100 commitments, a total that could be growing soon, very soon, with four-star wideout Matthew Gregory on campus for his official visit.

Five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson made a surprise official visit. That has led to renewed optimism among Nebraska football fans in landing his commitment.

Corey Brown was the primary recruiter for Demontagnac. That’s his first commitment as the defensive tackles coach, but if all goes well this weekend, it won’t be the last.
