The odds have made a drastic shift in the Nebraska football vs. Colorado game scheduled for Saturday in Boulder.
It’s crazy how much the perception of Colorado has shifted after one game and rightfully so. The Buffaloes were three-touchdown underdogs against 17th-ranked TCU before a 45-42 win. Colorado was also more than a touchdown underdog to Nebraska football just a few days ago.
The old Big 8/Big 12 rivals are set to renew their rivalry Saturday in Boulder. Both teams have a new head coach, but their first games went much differently.
Deion Sanders is the toast of the college world after his team upset TCU, while Matt Rhule is already facing some pressure following a late loss to Minnesota, in which the Huskers had about a 94-percent chance to win late.
Yet, a play here or there in each game could have led to different outcomes. Nebraska football was a 7.5-point underdog against Minnesota on the road and lost by three, covering the spread.
This week, the spread will be tough to cover without an outright win. Before the results of Week 1, Nebraska football was the betting favorite. Some books listed the Huskers as an 8.5-point favorite.
Some of that was centered on the narrative that Colorado didn’t have a very good roster. One analyst called it the worst in the country last week. That’s obviously not the case and now, the odds have shifted dramatically in the past couple of days.
The bets are flooding in too, most of them seemingly for Colorado.
Latest odds for Nebraska football vs. Colorado
After the Buffs’ win over TCU, the odds have changed heavily in the favor of Colorado. According to the latest odds from DraftKings, Colorado is now a 3.5-point favorite for Saturday’s game.
The money line for Nebraska football is +145; It’s -175 for Colorado, while the over/under is 58. As of right now, this is also the most bet game in college football according to DraftKings.
Only the Lions and Chiefs are receiving more bets right now. With the line still inching up, it seems like many of the bettors are favoring Colorado.
It’s easy to understand why. The Buffaloes have tons of buzz following their upset of TCU and the narrative around Nebraska is that it’s “the same old Nebraska.”
We’ll start with our previews and predictions against the spread soon, but for now, just know the eyes of the betting world are also on Nebraska football and Colorado this week.
