Nebraska football fans haven’t always agreed with the moves of head coach Matt Rhule, but it’s hard to argue with the results from hiring Geep Wade.

Whether it was landing three potential starters in the transfer portal, better on-field play, at least during the spring and the bowl game, or the commitment of four-star Jordan Agbanoma earlier this week, a top-100 offensive lineman, who is 6-foot-3, 315 pounds, Wade is making his impact felt in Lincoln.

And he’s about to do it again.

The Nebraska offensive line coach has the Huskers trending for another 2027 commitment, KD Jones. This would be the third of the 2027 class for the offensive line after Matt Erickson and Agbanoma. Wade has identified Jones as a center target for the Huskers.

Jones, a 6-foot-4, 268-pound interior offensive lineman, is from Logansville, Georgia, just like Agbanoma. He’s ranked No. 815 overall via the Rivals Industry Rankings, and Nebraska football has a 98 percent chance to land his commitment after a slew of expert projections in recent days.

Nebraska is about to reel-in another impressive O-line target

For a three-star recruit, Jones has an impressive offer list. Auburn, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and South Carolina were in the mix. Jones had five SEC offers and three from the Big Ten, Michigan included. He also had six offers from ACC schools, with Georgia Tech being the most serious contender.

This would be the 10th commitment in the 2027 class. The Huskers have nine right now. Six of them are blue-chip prospects with four rankings in the top 100. Nebraska is also the favorite to land four-star wide receiver Matthew Gregory, another top-100 prospect. That would be five in one class.

That’s exactly the kind of recruiting class Nebraska fans were hoping for in 2027. It’s still only, but it looks like they are going to get it.
