There were some tense moments on Friday for the Nebraska softball team.

Playing a South Dakota squad with a losing record, the Huskers found themselves trailing after a home run put the Coyotes in front. A double from Jordy Frahm sparked a two-run fifth. Nebraska softball added two more runs in the sixth, and Frahm sealed the deal with her 11th-save of the season, which leads college softball.

Alexis Jensen pitched five innings and allowed just one run, on the home run. That was one of just two hits allowed. She struck out six to get the win.

Hannah Cammenzind was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Kacie Hoffman drove in two runs, while Frahm had a double and scored a run. The Huskers (47-6) will now take on Grand Canyon, a team that’s 53-8 after beating Louisville on Friday. The 25th-ranked Lopes are the Mountain West champs. First pitch is set for 12 PM CST on ESPN+.

Nebraska baseball rally

The Huskers trailed 6-1 to Minnesota at the top of the ninth inning on Friday. But a two-RBI single by Jeter Worthley, who also hit a home run in the 8th, got Nebraska within one, before Dylan Carey tied the game with an RBI single of his own.

Nebraska then got another run in the 10th when Worthley scored from third on a wild pitch, giving the Huskers their 40th win of the season (40-14, 22-7). It also clinched the eighth Big Ten series win (out of 10) and wrapped up the No. 2 seed for the Big Ten tournament.

Nebraska baseball has won six in a row. Gavin Blachowicz is expected to start on Saturday in the finale at 1 PM CST on BTN+.

Nebraska football projected for O-line commitment

Geep Wade has been a great hire for the Huskers. He’s been working to land a number of offensive line prospects. The board has been shifting, but a new target has emerged and Nebraska football is the favorite to land his commitment.

KD Jones is out of Logansville, Georgia. The 6-foot-3, 303-pound interior offensive lineman has been projected to the Huskers by Tim Verghese of Rivals. Georgia Tech and Kentucky are also pushing hard to land Jones.

Wade had a relationship with him dating back to when he coached at Georgia Tech. The Huskers currently have eight commitments, but there have been a few positive trends on the recruiting trail. This is just the latest.
