Nebraska football was able to get a prediction in their favor for Wake Forest transfer wide receiver Jahmal Banks. Banks has been linked to the program for the past couple days, and a prediction for Banks to Nebraska was put in by On3’s Bryan Munson.
Banks tallied 59 catches for 653 yards and four touchdowns last season. He had one game of over 100 receiving yards against Elon on August 31. He remained hot to start the season, scoring touchdowns in the first three games of the year.
Banks measures in at six-foot-four, 205 pounds. His profile is pretty consistent with what Nebraska football wants in terms of height at the position. New commitment Isaiah Neyor measures in at six-foot-three, 260 pounds. Height and size are things Nebraska football is looking for at the position.
Banks is a tremendously athletic playmaker, who also serves as a deep threat. He possesses the playmaking ability that Nebraska football wants to have in their offense. He can beat you in multiple ways, and is both a red zone threat as well as a deep threat.
The Huskers have done a good job of identifying the types of players they want in their offense, and sticking to that goal.
Currently, Nebraska football has two transfer commitments in the 2024 class with the additions of Neyor and Blye Hill.
Banks would bring yet another veteran playmaker to the huskers. Nebraska has done a good job of filling their needs during this recruiting cycle. They needed veteran receivers, and now they’re in a position where they could get two. This is another example of the program identifying needs and making sure to address them as quick as possible.
Banks enjoying visit to Nebraska Football
It also appears that the wide receiver is enjoying his visit. He was able to cook up a little meal during his visit, as Nebraska continues to cook on the recruiting trail.
Hopefully, Nebraska will be able to seal the deal and what has been an already-strong recruiting weekend. Adding Banks to the mix would undoubtedly be another recruiting when and what has already been a busy weekend for the program.
