Welcome to Husker Big Red Daily, your daily stop for the latest Nebraska football news, recruiting buzz, transfer portal updates, and Huskers headlines. Here’s a quick look at the latest storylines surrounding Nebraska athletics.

Nebraska football is fresh off Big Ten Media Days in Chicago and will be opening fall camp ahead of the 2026 season this week.

We have some great preseason content for you to check as the Huskers ramp up for the 2026 season. This weekend, we analyzed the 10 most important players for the 2026 Nebraska football team, as well as outlined the team’s biggest strength.

We also projected the Huskers’ Week 1 depth chart ahead of fall camp.

Fall camp starts on August 5th. Nebraska fan day is August 8th. The first game of the season is now just 33 days away. Matt Rhule spoke about how the Huskers have to play better in November this season. He said the key was having a better team.

Rhule believes this will be his best Nebraska team. The players seem confident, too, but the fans are still skeptical after 19 wins in three seasons.

Regardless of how you feel about the Huskers in 2026, things ramp up even more this week as the players open fall camp.

5-star buzz about Nebraska football and Ahmad Hudson

Steve Wiltfong of Rivals put out a list of 2027 recruits who are committed, but have commitments that are on “shaky ground.”

The most respected recruiting analyst in the business had five-star Ahmad Hudson on that list. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound tight end, ranked 18th overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings, out of Ruston, Louisiana, is still flirting with a flip to the Big Red.

Here’s what Wiltfong wrote about Nebraska ($):

“However, there have been times where Nebraska has been No. 1. No program has been more consistent recruiting Hudson. He took an official in the summer. He’s expected to return during the season. The Huskers are a real threat moving forward.”

Some other programs have started to show interest, too. Miami, Florida, and Ohio State are among them. Auburn and Iowa, too. So LSU might have a tougher time hanging onto Hudson than previously expected.

Tom Loy of 247 Sports reported that he expects Hudson to visit Nebraska football this fall. That would be a massive development.

Volleyball Big Ten Media Days

The Nebraska volleyball team will take its turn at the podium Monday in Chicago for the volleyball version of media days.

All 18 teams will be featured on Monday in Chicago. The Huskers will be on the Big Ten Network at 3:40 p.m. CT and at the podium from 4:45-5:15 p.m.
