Welcome to Husker Big Red Daily, your daily stop for the latest Nebraska football news, recruiting buzz, transfer portal updates, and Huskers headlines. Here’s a quick look at the latest storylines surrounding Nebraska athletics.

Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule might know something that the rest of us don’t.

In an interview with “Pardon My Take,” Rhule was talking about the impact his podcast has had on the recruiting trail.

That’s not the most interesting thing he said in the clip, which can be heard here. The Nebraska football head coach said the Huskers are going to sign a top-10 recruiting class.

“This year with our recruiting class, we will probably have a top 10, a top-5 class,” Rhule said.

With only flip targets on the board, such as LSU commitment and five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson, it makes you wonder if Rhule knows something Nebraska fans don’t. Director of recruiting, Keith Williams, tweeted what felt like a commitment teaser a few weeks back.

A commitment didn’t happen, but maybe it was a silent. Maybe it had to do with Hudson. Either way, it was an interesting take. Regardless of the final ranking, Rhule is poised to sign the best Nebraska football recruiting class since the days of Bill Callahan.

The Huskers are ranked 16th in 2027, via the 247 Sports composite rankings. They have 22 commitments. 10 of them are as blue-chip prospects, which includes five-star QB Trae Taylor, the No. 1 overall QB in the 2027 class.

Nebraska volleyball is the “kingpin”

The Huskers were called the “kingpin” of college volleyball by Wisconsin’s head coach on Monday at Big Ten Media Days.

Nebraska volleyball has earned that title. Just look at their 2026 schedule. This team is filled with stars and will be treated as such.

This program has also underachieved. It’s hard to say that when the Huskers have won three straight Big Ten championships and made the Elite 8 in three consecutive seasons, but Nebraska volleyball should probably have at least one national championship

Now, Harper Murray, Andi Jackson, and Bergen Reilly will head into their senior seasons looking to go 4-for-4 in the Big Ten. They are also seeking that elusive national championship.

All three players could have a fifth season, too. Dani Busboom-Kelly essentially said that the Huskers will play it by ear.

It was also announced that Nebraska volleyball will play 14 different matches on television, with coverage split between the Big Ten Network and Fox Sports. The Huskers are also playing Florida at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, Texas, in Las Vegas, and Missouri at Wrigley Field.

These girls are like the Beatles. Now, it’s time to win it all.
