Nebraska football was busy offering scholarships this past weekend, plus more in our Nebraska Cornhuskers news roundup.

Matt Rhule and Nebraska football aim for the stars and this past weekend, they extended scholarship offers to two of the best recruits in the entire 2025 class — David Sanders and DJ Pickett.

Sanders is a five-star offensive tackle who is 6-foot-6, 270 pounds and is ranked as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2025 class. He’s also ranked second overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Nebraska football quarterack Dylan Raiola has reached out and is recruiting the elite offensive tackle. The Huskers were in the mix with Brandon Baker in the 2024 class and Donovan Raiola has been doing an exceptional job on the recruiting trail for the Huskers.

If Sanders takes a visit this spring, then I’d take the Husker as a serious threat. But it’s good to see them extend the offer, just like they did with five-star defensive back DJ Pickett on Saturday.

Pickett is 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, and ranked seventh overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. The five-star safety resides in Tampa. Nebraska has found success in Florida but Phil Simpson, who had strong ties to the area, was recently hired away by Florida State.

LSU, Georgia, Oregon, and Miami are all getting official visits from Pickett, so the Huskers have work to do but the next step is a visit. Until then, the offer doesn’t mean much, just like with Sanders.

Beyond those recruits, Nebraska offered a total of four players on Saturday, plus seven more offers in the 2025 class on Sunday.

Matt Ludwig, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound athlete was also offered by Nebraska football on Sunday. Ludwig is a zero-star recruit now in the 2026 class but won’t be for long. He’ll be ranked No. 1 in Montana and I’ve seen him live a few times — he’s legit, like seriously legit.

He plays tight end, receiver, quarterback, and defensive line. He reminds me of Carter Nelson in some ways and I’m glad to see the Huskers get in the mix early.

Nebraska Cornhuskers get top-20 win in wrestling
