Nebraska football hosted Dylan Raiola this weekend, but he’s still talking to Georgia. Here’s the latest.
All eyes are on Nebraska football recruiting target Dylan Raiola following the official visit of the five-star quarterback to Lincoln this weekend.
It appeared that things were going well with Raiola, who was spotted at a Nebraska wrestling match, as well as a women’s basketball game on Sunday. He was even spotted with Malachi Coleman, a current Nebraska football wide receiver and former top-100 recruit himself.
Currently, all seven crystal ball projections from 247 Sports, including one from Steve Wiltfong, the lead expert, are projecting Raiola to sign with Nebraska football on Wednesday. The On3 prediction machine heavily favors the Huskers as well.
However, Wiltfong reported on Sunday that Raiola is still communicating with Georgia. That’s not shocking and there wasn’t any information to make Wiltfong re-think his crystal ball, but there’s a reason Nebraska fans are so nervous.
Raiola would be the biggest recruiting win for Nebraska football since Tommie Frazier, so it will be a tense couple of days if Dylan is waiting until Early National Signing Day to make an announcement.
Nebraska hosting four-star transfer running back in January
It appears the Huskers won’t sign a running back in the 2024 class after the decommitment of Kewan Lacy. Yet, Nebraska could still be adding a former four-star running back to the room with three years of eligibility remaining.
That’s because Nebraska will host Oregon running back transfer Dante Dowdell, a former top-150 recruit in the 2023 class according to the On3 Industry rankings. Husker Online is reporting the visit, which will have to happen next month since we are in a recruiting dead period.
Dowdell did see action in six games this past season for the Ducks, so he didn’t redshirt, even though he only got more than three carries in a game twice. Yet, Dowdell turned his 17 carries into 90 yards, with his best game coming against Portland State with eight rushes for 55 yards and a touchdown.
