When Nebraska football hosted five-star recruits David Sanders and Michael Terry right before the dead period, Husker fans had hope that they could land one or both of the elite prospects in the 2025 class.
Sanders arrived in Lincoln to a bunch of fanfare. Dylan Raiola told Nebraska football fans to show up to greet the 6-foot-6 280-pound offensive tackle who is ranked 2nd overall in the 2025 class.
It was the second trip for Sanders to Lincoln. The Huskers made his final four along with Georgia, Tennessee, and Ohio State. Nebraska is in the top two but Steve Wiltfong of On3.com projected him to Tennessee.
The offensive tackle visited Tennessee the same weekend ahead of his scheduled commitment on August 17th and for now, the Vols are the team to beat.
Michael Terry gets another projection to Texas
Terry, a 6-foot-3, 217-pound athlete, is ranked 32nd in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He praised both of his visit to Nebraska football — one of which was during the spring game.
After his visit in early August, Terry said the Huskers were “building some special.” The five-star athlete is also planning to take a visit to Nebraska for a game this fall, according to a new report from Bryan Munson of Husker Online.
However, a Texas insider for On3.com has put in an expert projection for Terry to stay home and commit to the Longhorns. Texas A&M and Oregon are the other contenders, but Texas is the team Nebraska needs to overcome.
The Horns also have a crystal ball projection for Terry (the only one) as well as a 93-percent chance to win his commitment according to the On3 prediction machine.
Four experts (On3 & 247 Sports) have projected Terry to Texas for On3.com but Wiltfong hasn’t yet. Chad Simmons either. If Terry visits again, I wouldn’t count out Nebraska but there is work to do.
