Michael Terry‘s recruitment has been a hard one to read. Texas and Oregon felt like the favorites recently, but it feels like Nebraska football also has some momentum on its side.
Terry, is 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, and ranked No. 26 overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s from San Antonio and Texas is the team to beat according to the On3 prediction machine and the 247 Sports crystal ball.
Those expert projections aren’t always right though. Terry visited Nebraska football a couple of days after five-star David Sanders, an offensive tackle in the 2025 class. The visit was last Tuesday and Wednesday and here’s what he told Mike Roach of 247 Sports:
“It was one of those schools that had my first interest, and the people there really got me interested,” Terry said. “I just really wanted to go back and see how the community and the culture was over there. It was the same as I thought. There’s a lot of good people and a lot of good coaches over there. They are really building something special. Last season they didn’t have a good season, but I really think they can be a lot better.”
Texas A&M is another team in the mix but they didn’t get a visit during the late open period for recruiting. Nebraska, Texas, and Oregon did.
While Texas feels like the favorite, Terry told Roach that he might delay his decision. The five-star wideout, who took an official visit to Nebraska during the spring game, said he’s built a “connection” with Dylan Raiola and that he could see himself at any of his final schools, which makes the decision so difficult.
Terry went into his visits looking to be sure about his decision. That made me feel like he had a leader, but now, that leader could be changing. The five-star at least sounds unsure and honestly, a delay might not be a bad thing for the Huskers, especially if they can get him on campus for a game this fall.
