Nebraska football

The other shoe finally dropped on Friday as four-star wideout Isaiah Mozee flipped his commitment from Oregon to Nebraska football.

On the same day his dad was out on the field coaching, as a new assistant coach for the Huskers, news broke that Isaiah Mozee would be joining his father, Jamar Mozee, in Lincoln by committing to play for Nebraska football.

It’s a huge recruiting win for Nebraska. Mozee is out of Lees Summit, Missouri and he’s ranked No. 247 overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s the 18th commitment total for the Huskers in the 2025 class and the sixth blue-chip commitment.

Mozee is actually the highest-ranked commitment for the Huskers in 2025 and here are three thoughts on his commitment.

A recruiting win on multiple fronts for Nebraska football

The Huskers have a lot to feel good about with this commitment. Not only are they getting a dynamic wideout who is 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, but Nebraska added another building block to its Missouri recruiting pipeline.

Nebraska has landed talented players out of Missouri in the past two cycles. Yet, Mozee is ranked second overall in the Show Me State in the 2025 class.

Yes, his dad is on staff. That probably played a role. But anytime you can beat out Oregon for a recruit, you have to feel good about that, and the fact that he’s now the Huskers top-ranked prospect is the cherry on top.

Another weapon for Dylan Raiola

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the Nebraska football offense is going to be scary. The Huskers have plenty of weapons this season and adding Mozee just stockpiles another for the future.

Isaiah Neyor and Jahmal Banks will only be in Lincoln for one season. But the Huskers have landed a bevy of blue-chip pass catchers in the past few years such as Malachi Coleman, Jacory Barney, Carter Nelson, Dae’vonn Hall, and others such as Isaiah McMorris, Quinn Clark, and Keelan Smith.

The Huskers ran the triple option for decades, but this is still the best collection of pass catchers they have ever had. At least that I can remember and Mozee will only add to it.

An explosive play waiting to happen

Matt Rhule likes to talk about having a positionless offense and Mozee fits that mold perfectly. He can play in the slot, on the outside, and even played a little running back.

Watching his highlights, he reminds me a little of Wandale Robinson. He caught 72 passes last season for 898 yards and 12 touchdowns. He catches a ton of screens and is incredible after the catch but Mozee can also take the top off the defense or motion into the backfield and rip off a 20-yard run.

It feels like Nebraska wants another receiver in the 2025 class. Michael Terry is a possibility and some others could be in the mix too, but man, take the time to be excited about Mozee. He’s elite and honestly, like Barney, he’ll probably have a bigger impact than the ranking suggests.

Mozee can play on Sundays and all of a sudden, the Huskers have a bunch of guys at wide receiver who can.
