The Nebraska football program has stayed busy on the recruiting trail. We cover that and much more in our recent podcast.
It was another busy week for Nebraska football on the recruiting trail. The Huskers made the cut list for a number of 2024 recruits and there continues to be a constant buzz about five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola.
Just this week, Nebraska football picked up a new crystal ball for the five-star QB from Arizona, who has strong ties to the program through his dad and uncle.
Dominic Raiola was a former Nebraska football great, while Donovan Raiola (current Nebraska O-line coach) is the uncle of the top-ranked recruit in the entire 2024 class.
Dylan Raiola would be the top commitment for the Huskers ever and it’s not even close. He would also have a huge impact on the recruiting trail such as Arch Manning did for Texas last summer.
We delve into all of that and offer our analysis of the Raiola recruitment. We also touch on Ian Flynt, who I believe will be the first verbal commitment for the Huskers in 2024, and a number of others.
Nebraska basketball and opening day
Beyond the latest happenings with football, the Huskers have won two in a row in men’s basketball and Nebraska could be trending toward an NIT bid. Obviously, Nebraska needs to win more games (likely 3 of 4) to close out the regular season but the next three are at home starting with Maryland on Sunday.
Minnesota and Michigan State also come to the Vault before a trip to Iowa to close the regular season. Win three of those four games, and Nebraska would finish the season 16-15, and considering where things were last season, that would be an incredible achievement by Fred Hoiberg especially after losing two starters due to injury.
It’s also the opening weekend for Nebraska baseball and we offer some quick thoughts on what to expect from the Huskers, who were picked fifth in the preseason Big Ten poll.
