It’s been a fun couple of weeks for Nebraska basketball. We cover that and much more in our recent podcast.
What a time to be a Nebraska basketball fan. That might seem a little hyperbolic but can you remember the last time it was this much fun to watch the Huskers?
I haven’t enjoyed a season this much probably since 2014 when Nebraska basketball last made the NCAA tournament. I’ve followed this program since 1991 when I moved to Nebraska, and only twice have I seen the Huskers make the big dance.
They have won the Big 8 conference title, an NIT championship, and also had some big wins over Kansas and a win over No. 2 Texas over the years. In the Big Ten, things got off to a great start. There was that classic game against Wisconsin at the Vault when the place was packed.
I’ve wanted that to return and after some very lean years to start the Fred Hoiberg era, the Huskers have found something. Yes, two of their best players are going to be out of eligibility after this season in Derrick Walker and Sam Griesel, but young players are stepping up and as long as Keisei Tominanga comes back, there is going to be a ton of excitement surrounding this team next season.
However, there’s a lot of basketball still to play. Two more home games and a trip to Iowa. The Huskers are 14-14 overall and 7-10 in the Big Ten. This season has been a success and we break it all down. We also touch on the latest recruiting news and more.
