Welcome to Husker Big Red Daily, your daily stop for the latest Nebraska football news, recruiting buzz, transfer portal updates, and Huskers headlines. Here’s a quick look at the latest storylines surrounding Nebraska athletics.

We are one day closer to Nebraska football’s showdown against Indiana on Saturday, in what will be the first game between 5-0 teams at Memorial Stadium in 25 years.

That’s hard to believe, but not if you look at the history. The Huskers haven’t won a conference championship since that 2001 season. They haven’t won more than 10 games since 2001, and haven’t played in a major bowl game.

There was a Cotton Bowl berth under Bill Callahan, but it was more like the Citrus Bowl back then. So there is a lot at stake for Nebraska football.

Yet, in a major injury update, Dana Holgorsen said on Tuesday that Jamal Rule will play. He was healthy enough to go against Maryland, but the Huskers wanted him to be 100 percent for the Indiana game, so all three running backs will be available.

Indiana’s running game is incredible. The Hoosiers are avearging 252 yards per game on the ground. Josh Hoover also has not thrown an interception, so who cares what this team is ranked? As Matt Rhule said, they are the defending national champions and are essentially a No. 1 team.

At the very least, the Huskers will have all hands on deck.

Anthony Colandrea is off to a historic start

The transfer from UNLV has been a godsend for Nebraska football. The senior quarterback has thrown 13 touchdown passes through five games, which is a Nebraska record. No one has ever done that before.

Anthony Colandrea is throwing for 228 yards per game, with 13 touchdowns and just two interceptions, in addition to running for 49 yards per game. That’s an average of 277 yards per game and 15 total touchdowns.

The dual-threat quarterback is a major reason the Huskers are 5-0. He is also one of the reasons an upset on Saturday feels possible. Not likely, but possible.

Nebraska basketball schedule features 30 nationally televised games

The Huskers have 32 games scheduled for the 2026-27 basketball season, and 30 of those games will be broadcast on national television (CBS, FOX, FS1, TNT, BTN, and NBC Sports Network)

Nebraska’s schedule will feature a Jan. 2 game against Michigan State, which will be shown on CBS. It will be the first time the Huskers have been shown on CBS in basketball since joining the Big Ten.

The season opener against Le Moyne on Nov. 2 is the only game currently scheduled for BTN+.
