Nebraska football tight end prospect Reiman Zebert has canceled his official visit for June 21. This was reported by 247Sports’ Allen Trieu. ($)

Zebert is ranked as the 43rd overall tight end in the 2025 class, and the sixth overall player and his class from the state of Nebraska per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is a three-star recruit on most of the major recruiting services.

Zebert has visited Nebraska quite a bit over the last couple of months. He most recently visited the program on April 20. He again visited the program on April 11, and also on January 20. June 21 was set to be his first official visit.

He does have an upcoming visit with Duke on June 14. The visit is an official one, and they are certainly a program to watch in his recruitment.

What does this mean for Nebraska football?

This visit cancellation has multiple implications for Nebraska football. For one, this could mean that they have made headway with Chase Loftin. Loftin is a major target on their board, and has visited Nebraska recently. He most recently took two official visits in April, and is taking an official visit on June 21. Loftin is currently scheduled to visit Texas A&M, beginning on Friday.

Loftin’s recruitment is certainly worth watching even more so now. One has to wonder if Nebraska football has a silent commitment from him. Either way, it’s clear that they want to take at least one more tight end for the upcoming class. That would certainly be a smart play. They are not afraid to stock up based on talent instead of need.

Nebraska football does have some depth at the tight end position coming in for the future. Carter Nelson is the headliner at the position, while Keelan Smith and Ian Flynt will be able to provide some depth. Bear Tenney will also be a name to watch for the future, as the Huskers continue to stock up at the position.

This is an interesting development with multiple moving parts. Zebert was my personal recruit to watch should the Loftin commitment have fallen through. Now, it would not be a stretch to say that Loftin is still very much in play.
