Husker Big Red Daily: Nebraska bowl projections, 4-star commit rebuffs Georgia, Andi Jackson honored

Nebraska football is 4-0 for the first time in a decade after a resounding 31-13 win over Michigan State to open Big Ten play on Saturday.

The Huskers are ranked in the top 20 nationally in total offense and total defense. Nebraska’s defense was a force against the Spartans, with six sacks, three takeaways, and just 39 rushing yards allowed.

I don’t care if the Spartans are one of the worst teams in the Big Ten. Nebraska football did exactly what it’s supposed to do. The Huskers are already two wins from reaching bowl eligibility for a third straight season.

Looking ahead to where some of the experts think Nebraska will land after four weeks, here are the updated bowl projections for the Huskers.

4-star commitment cancels Georgia visit

Another key piece of news on the recruiting trail is that four-star defensive back Corey Hadley, one of the highest-rated commitments for the Huskers in the 2027 class, did not end up taking his visit to Georgia. It was cancelled, according to Chad Simmons of Rivals.

Georgia was pushing to flip the blue-chip prospect ranked No. 147 overall in the 2027 class, via the 247 Sports composite rankings, but Hadley has shut down his recruitment. He will sign with the Huskers.

Andi Jackson is the Big Ten Player of the Week

After a 3-0 week, including a 2-0 start in the Big Ten for the top-ranked Nebraska volleyball team, middle blocker Andi Jackson was named the Big Ten Player of the Week.

From Huskers.com: “It is Jackson’s second career Big Ten Player of the Week selection and Nebraska’s second of the season after Manaia Ogbechie received recognition on Sept. 13.

Jackson’s all-around performance led the top-ranked Huskers to a 3-0 week against Missouri, Rutgers and Ohio State. On the week, the senior averaged 3.33 kills/set and 1.56 blocks/set.

Across the three matches, Jackson totaled 30 kills and hit .578 on 45 swings while adding 14 blocks on the defensive end to help the NU defense hold opponents to a .048 hitting percentage.
