The Nebraska volleyball team wrapped up its match with Missouri on Wednesday night as the two teams resumed their postponed match from Wrigley Field at Bob Devaney Sports Center.

The Huskers won, sweeping the Tigers in three sets, 25-10, 25-17, and 25-14, and making quick work of the 7-4 SEC squad.

Here are three takeaways as the Huskers improved to 11-0 on the season just ahead of Big Ten play, which opens this weekend.

Andi Jackson was incredible

The impact of Andi Jackson is hard to overstate. John Cook talked about it on the broadcast, highlighting how Jackson’s presence opened things up on one play for a Skyler Pierce kill.

Jackson requires a lot of attention, though. We were reminded why once again on Wednesday, as the senior was credited with 10 kills and six blocks. She also hit .667 (zero errors on 15 swings) and pitched in with two aces for good measure.

Nebraska’s defense shines again

It’s hard to win a volleyball match when you hit .020. Yet, that’s what the Tigers hit against Nebraska volleyball on Wednesday in what was a season low. The Tigers had 24 kills and 22 errors. They had 98 attempts and killed only 24. That’s where the match was won. It’s also why this never felt competitive.

Harper Murray is trending up

Nebraska needs Harper Murray to be at their absolute best this season, or it’s not going to win a national championship.

It has been a sluggish start of sorts for the All-American outside hitter, but she had 10 kills on Wednesday, hitting .241. It was her third straight match with double-digit kills. The hitting percentage is trending up, and Harper Murray is starting to look like the dominant offensive player we have come to know and love.

Nebraska football injury report vs. Michigan State

During Big Ten play, teams will be putting out injury reports each week, starting on Wednesday. The first injury report listed Carter Nelson out as expected. EDGE Jordan Ochoa is listed as questionable, and Bryson Webber is doubtful.

MSU linebacker Brady Pretzlaff is listed as out. Jay Coyne, a special teams player, is also out, while starting cornerback Tyran Chappell is listed as questionable.
