Nebraska football extended an offer to 2024 linebacker Teddy Rezac on Thursday. The in-state target has been seeing his profile rise, and he most recently took a visit to Notre Dame last weekend.

He is listed as an athlete, and is the eighth overall player in the 2024 class from the state of Nebraska per the 247Sports Rankings. He holds a numerical rating of 85.

Right now, the Crystal Balls are not trending in Nebraska’s favor. Rezac has two predictions to Notre Dame, which were both put in on May 8. Nevertheless, Nebraska is trying to make a push here, and that could go a long way. The staff has been known to recruit at a relentless pace, and landing Rezac is not completely out of the question.

When you look at the 2024 in-state class, there is a ton of talent. The group is headlined by tight end Carter Nelson while Dae’Vonn Hall is the second overall player in the state. There is a ton of talent in this particular class year for the state of Nebraska. Nebraska football has been connected to several of these names, and I suspect that their pursuits will continue.

He would help Nebraska football immediately

Rezac is a tremendously athletic linebacker. He can play multiple spots on the field. Tackling and pursuit are two of his biggest strengths. His vision is very impressive, and he is patient while a play develops. He is also not afraid to get into the backfield to make a play, and is a very solid run defender.

To put it simply, he would fit well in Nebraska football’s 3-3-5 defense. His instincts and his ability to swarm the football allow him to be a playmaker on almost every single snap.

Assessing the Nebraska football 2024 class

Currently, the 2024 Nebraska football recruiting class ranks 31st overall nationally per the 247Sports rankings The class is shaping up nicely with six commitments in total. A commitment from Rezac would give Nebraska football another player from the state. Ashton Murphy is the lone in-state commitment as it stands in the class right now.

It’s going to take a lot to sway momentum in the program’s favor. Rezac’s recruiting process is already well underway. At the very least, they are making an effort to do so and have offered him.

We will see what happens. Nevertheless, it would be hard to count out any prospect with the way Matt Rhule and this coaching staff recruit.
