Nebraska football has been trending for former Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord over the past couple of weeks. The new Crystal Ball prediction was put in for McCord, that has the signal-caller going to the Huskers. Mike Schaefer of Husker247 put in a Crystal Ball with a medium confidence score of six.

This comes on the heels of the news that both McCord and wide receiver Julian Fleming are going to visit Lincoln later this week. Both players have been connected with Nebraska over the last week. The developments on Sunday, meaning the visit and Crystal Ball, are certainly steps in the right direction.

Schaefer has hit on 75.15 % of his picks all-time.

What could this mean for Nebraska Football?

This would certainly be a big get for a Nebraska football program that needs a spark at the quarterback position. The program needed to be aggressive in the transfer portal and they have identified McCord as their main target. The signal-caller is currently rated the eighth-best quarterback in the transfer portal according to rankings from On3.

One has to wonder what will come of the visit this week, and if Nebraska football will be able to seal the deal. The timing of this is important, as landing McCord right now would give him a bit more time to get acclimated to Lincoln, and begin to learn the offense. At the very least, he would give Nebraska the quarterback needed to be able to compete in 2024.

It remains to be seen if he’ll actually end up in Lincoln. Nevertheless, this prediction and recent reports have all been good signs that McCord to Lincoln will happen.

If this happens, McCord will be one the biggest transfers that Nebraska football has landed in years. His talent and playmaking ability could be the thing that helps get this program and Matt Rhule’s tenure back on track.
