Husker Big Red Daily: Nothing new on Ahmad Hudson, Anthony Colandrea buzz, more

After a post on X by Nebraska football director of recruiting Keith Williams on Friday, there was some buzz about a potential commitment happening this weekend.

Some even speculated that Williams might have been hinting at a commitment from five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson, who is committed to LSU, but took an official visit to Nebraska football in June, and told reporters recently that he is still considering both schools.

Williams certainly could have been referencing Hudson, but nothing has become public yet, and maybe won’t for a while. It’s all speculation, but it does feel like the Huskers have improved their chances this summer of landing the 6-foot-6, 5-star tight end. Nebraska fans need to keep an eye out at the very least.

PFF Grades have Anthony Colandrea among the top Big Ten QBs

Take Pro Football Focus grades with a grain of salt, but based on last season’s grades, Anthony Colandrea is the third-highest-rated Big Ten quarterback. Julian Sayin and Dante Moore were the first and second highest-graded quarterbacks. Colandrea came in third.

Of course, his grade was based on his play in the Mountain West. He was the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year. Nobody is expecting Colandrea to do that in the Big Ten, but it does feel like he will be an upgrade, in large part due to his ability to run, something college football expert Phil Steele said he liked about this team. Matt Rhule has talked all offseason about that, too.

It will change the offense. In a good way.

Nebraska football fall camp updates

Fall camp is just two weeks away. We are counting down the days with some fresh content.
