Nebraska football had a pair of five-star recruits visit campus over the past few days. Offensive tackle David Sanders visited over the weekend, while Michael Terry, a five-star athlete from Texas, visited Tuesday and Wednesday.
Going into the visit, it felt like the Huskers needed to find a way to make a move. On his official visit, Terry was effusive in his praise for Nebraska football and even said, “Matt Rhule isn’t playing fair.”
That felt like a good omen. However, the Huskers faded a little as Terry, a 6-foot-3, 217-pound athlete from San Antonio ranked 26th overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Terry is 6-foot-3, 217 pounds, and could play multiple positions for the Huskers on offense or defense. Texas has emerged as the favorite recently and the Longhorns have the only crystal ball projection.
The On3 prediction machine gives Texas a 91-percent chance of landing the five-star thanks to some expert projections. They aren’t from Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons though. Those guys are still holding out. Nebraska sits in third right now, but the prediction machine doesn’t always reflect reality. It can also shift quickly if predictions come in for another program.
Michael Terry enjoys another visit
There hasn’t been much buzz about Terry’s visit. Yet, Terry posted on X on Thursday morning, “Coach Rhule and staff didn’t disappoint again!!!!”
That has some experts viewing the Huskers among the top three with Texas and Oregon. There are rumors that Nebraska football came through with a major NIL offer but it’s hard to see Nebraska topping Oregon or Texas. The 1890 has been “aggressive” according to reports so I don’t think a lack of NIL is the issue.
Terry’s recruitment has been hard to read. It feels like Nebraska is third after Texas and Oregon, but you never know and at the very least, the Huskers still helped themselves with this visit.
