Welcome to Husker Big Red Daily, your daily stop for the latest Nebraska football news, recruiting buzz, transfer portal updates, and Huskers headlines. Here’s a quick look at the latest storylines surrounding Nebraska athletics.

It felt like Nebraska football knocked it out of the park last weekend when it hosted four-star wide receiver Khalil Taylor. Now, it seems like that feeling was correct.

Just days after the official visit was completed, Steve Wiltfong, the most respected recruiting expert out there, switched his prediction for the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine from Penn State to Nebraska. Allen Trieu, a Midwest expert, is another who flipped his pick to the Huskers, too.

Tim Verghese, who covers Nebraska football recruiting for Inside Nebraska, has also flipped his pick. Predictions aren’t commitments. Taylor has a decision date set for July 6th. We’ll see if the momentum lasts, but the current trend has Nebraska football adding a top-100 wideout to the 2027 class to go along with Trae Taylor.

Khalil Taylor is ranked No. 82 overall. He’s 5-foot-11, 190 pounds. He’s runs the 100-meter dash in around 10.7, and scored 38 touchdowns over the past two season, meaning 45 percent of his receptions resulted in touchdowns.

All-Big Ten Media Days

Justin Evans, Andrew Marshall, and Luke Lindenmeyer will join Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule at Big Ten Media Days on July 30th. Evans was named a fourth-team preseason All-American, according to Athlon Sports.

Evans should play a key role this season and is expected to be drafted. Lindenmeyer and Marshall are also seniors. There are now 72 days until the start of the 2026 Nebraska football season against Ohio.
