Nebraska football landed another commitment on Tuesday and here are three thoughts on Quinn Clark.

Another 2024 recruit is N! This time it’s Quinn Clark, a three-star wide receiver out of Bozeman, Montana. Clark is the eighth Nebraska football commitment in the 2024 class that has been offered after a camp.

Clark, the son of former Nebraska running back Ken Clark, traveled to Lincoln to take part in a camp a few weeks ago and earned an offer from Matt Rhule.

The 6-foot-5, 190-pounder is ranked 1,434 overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings, as well as 174th among wide receivers. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 and has a lot of upside. He’s also got the bloodlines and I think this is another good take by Matt Rhule.

Here are three thoughts.

Don’t fret about the offer list

I know the offer sheet only includes FCS schools such as Montana, Montana State, and Portland State. But don’t let that fool you. Quinn Clark can play. Here’s what Brandon Huffman of 247 Sports said about Clark this summer:

“Clark is an intriguing prospect who we’ve seen a ton this spring- multiple 7v7 tournaments and multiple camps. He’s a workhorse, he can play in the secondary but is best suited as a pass-catcher.”

Huffman said that Clark “dominated” at the camp in Boise, which is before he earned his offer from Nebraska. You wonder why more teams haven’t jumped in the mix with an offer.

But Rhule has shown he’s not afraid to be first and once the Huskers offered, they closed it out quickly. Clark is a really talented pass-catcher but could eventually fit at multiple spots. The main point is that he’s not close to reaching his ceiling.

Montana also isn’t known for top-ranked recruits so it’s hard to Clark to showcase himself against other top-ranked players. He’s done well this summer though and I wouldn’t get caught up in who offered and who hasn’t.

A true athlete in terms of position

Wide receiver is probably Clark’s best position, but we’ll have to see how he develops. Nebraska has also considered tight end and he plays secondary too.

It’s not hard to imagine him playing safety or rover for Nebraska football. Clark did have over 40 tackles last season, four passes defended, and three interceptions.

Gallatin is also a brand-new school in Montana and Clark helped the Raptors reach the state semifinals for the first time with a two-touchdown, one-interception performance that included a 77-yard touchdown as well as eight receptions for 204 yards.

While Clark runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5, his best time in the 100-meter this spring was 11.8. I’m sure that number will come down, but there’s a chance he could be a tight end, which could be scary for opposing defenses.

The momentum continues

There was talk of most of the official visitors from last weekend being committed or committing on the trip. At this point, three of six recruits have committed.

Carter Nelson could make it No. 4 tomorrow. Ernest Campbell has also picked up some Nebraska football projections. There haven’t been any crystal balls quite yet. But things are looking up for him and Grant Brix too.

Those will be the only holdouts after tomorrow and it really has been an insane recruiting run with 11 commitments in the past nine days.

Expect that number to hit 12 tomorrow.
