Injuries suck. They are part of the game though and Nebraska football left tackle Teddy Prochazka once again has to deal with a season-ending injury.

For the third time in the past four years, Prochazka has suffered a season-ending injury. He started the last five games in 2023 and looked to be a fixture at left tackle for the Huskers in 2024.

However, Matt Rhule, speaking to local reporters, revealed that Prochazka suffered a torn ACL and will miss the entire 2024 season. Roger Gradney, a freshman defender, will also miss the season due to injury.

What does Prochazka’s injury mean for Nebraska football?

This news is brutal, to say the least for the Huskers. Nebraska football was thin at offensive tackle to start with and it just lost one of its three best offensive tackles.

Turner Corcoran started with the No. 1 offense on Saturday night, but many expected Prochazka to win the job. Yet, Rhule reported the injury happened on Monday.

The Nebraska football head coach said the Huskers would turn to Corcoran and Gunnar Gottula. Corcoran started last season at left tackle but also suffered a season-ending injury. The veteran also has had some struggles there over the years.

Gottula played in four games last season and is a redshirt freshman. Grant Brix is another name to watch. Rhule said he’s a tackle and the highly-touted four-star recruit might be needed sooner rather than later.

With a five-star quarterback and an offense looking to throw more, it’s concerning. Some other guys could emerge but offensive tackle was the last place Nebraska could afford an injury.

Corcoran needs to deliver now and the others need to get ready because now they are one injury away from being the starting left tackle.
