Lee is not ranked in the 247Sports rankings. He is being recruited to Nebraska by secondaries coach Evan Cooper and director of player personnel Omar Hales.
Lee has offers from the likes of Georgetown, Memphis, North Texas, and Stephen F Austin. He currently plays football at Lone Star High School.
What could he bring to Nebraska football?
Lee is an intriguing pass rusher. He measures in at six-foot-two, 215 pounds. He is extremely strong off the edge, and uses a combination of his speed and agility in order to get to the ballcarrier. Lee has multiple ways he can pursue players. He uses his aggressiveness to get to the quarterback with ease, but he also uses his lateral quickness to get to ball carriers in the open field.
This is definitely an intriguing piece of news for Nebraska football. Matt Rhule and this coaching staff have done a solid job of identifying players before their recruiting profile increases.
There are negatives to that, as bigger schools will often come in and swipe any potential commitments. Kewan Lacy is a good example. Even still, it’s better to be ahead of the game than recruiting from behind.
Nebraska football has gotten good production from their edge rushers this year. Trying to get another one in the fold is important. It will be interesting to see what happens with this recruitment in particular. Lee would continue to stockpile the defensive end position which is going to be important, given the pass-heavy teams coming into the conference.
It will be interesting to see if there is more news regarding Lee this weekend. A Crystal Ball is often an indicator that more news may be coming.
