Last season, Nebraska football had everything you need to win but the quarterback.

Now, the Huskers have a quarterback and even though the season is still two weeks away, there’s no doubt about who “The Guy” is for Nebraska football.

It’s Dylan Raiola and the latest to become convinced of his talents are the Big Ten Network crew who visited for a day of fall camp. Howard Griffith, a long-time analyst for Big Ten Network talked up the QB room as a whole, saying “It’s one of the best I’ve seen on this tour (of Big Ten programs).

Nebraska football QB Dylan Raiola gets more media praise

That was high praise but Griffith, a Super Bowl champion with the Denver Broncos, was even more effusive in his praise for projected starting quarterback Dylan Raiola.

“Raiola is as good as advertised,” Griffith said. “I think the maturity that he has — filtered through to the entire offense. That’s not to say they don’t have leaders at other positions because that’s not the case but the quarterback position has to be a difference maker. The O-line helping him, the tight end room helping him — being able to run the ball really is going to change the fortunes of this team.”

Griffith noted the pressure that exists for Raiola. Not only was he a five-star recruit but his dad is one of the greatest Nebraska football players to ever live. He also talked about being the next great Nebraska quarterback so he doesn’t seem fazed or bothered by the pressure.

He’s embraced it and so far, he has been as good as advertised. Now, it’s time to see him do it on Saturdays.
