We are just two weeks away from Big 10 media days, and the representatives for Nebraska football were announced. Offensive lineman Ethan Piper, quarterback Jeff Sims and linebacker Luke Reimer were announced as the representatives for the program. Big Ten media days are set for July 27.

Piper played in 10 games last season and made eight starts as a sophomore. He has been a key part of the Nebraska football offensive line in several years, as he played in all eight games in 2020 as a redshirt freshman. He played in all five games in 2021.

Sims is new to the program. He transferred in from Georgia Tech in December, and looks to be Nebraska football’s starting quarterback. He threw for 1,115 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions. The signal-caller performed well in the spring game for Nebraska football, recording 139 passing yards on nine-of-13 attempts. Sims looks to lead a Nebraska team that will start a transfer quarterback for the second straight year.

Reimer has been a mainstay on the Nebraska football defense. He recorded 86 tackles last season, and was a key part of the linebacker group. He tallied 90 in 2021, and was able to assert himself that season as a key part of the defense. Now, he will look to anchor a unit led by defensive coordinator Tony White.

Nebraska football looks towards 2023

It’s certainly interesting having Piper as a representative for these media days. This means that he will probably play a big factor on the line next season. Sims and Reimer are no-brainers, as they look to lead their units and position groups.

These three will give us a chance to see them on the national stage, a little more than a month before Nebraska football takes on Minnesota. Football season is getting that much closer, as anticipation continues to build.
