It was a newsworthy day for Nebraska football recruiting. The Huskers added a commitment to their 2026 class by landing three-star defensive back CJ Bronaugh on Tuesday.

Bronaugh is unranked according to the 247 Sports composite rankings but it’s hard to figure out why. As a junior this fall, the 6-foot-1 cornerback who runs the 100-meter dash in 10.33, as well as the 40-yard dash in 4.3, notched six interceptions in seven games.

The athleticism of the newest Nebraska football commitment jumps off the screen. Bronaugh took a couple of those interceptions back for touchdowns. He also had a strip sack and a blocked kick. I absolutely love his ball skills and when you have speed like that, this kid feels like a future four-star recruit.

It also feels like Nebraska football got a major steal out of Windermere, Florida. Vincent Shavers, Jacory Barney, and Willis McGahee IV have all made early impacts. That’s not saying Bronaugh will too, but he feels like a player who could be starting material down the road.

Bear Tenney decommits from Nebraska football

Three-star tight end Bear Tenney has been a mystery this fall. He hasn’t placed much according to the reporting of Bryan Munson of Husker Online and sounds like he’s been battling some injuries.

At any rate, he seemed like he was a solid member of the Nebraska football recruiting class but on Tuesday, Tenney posted on X that he was re-opening his recruitment.

It didn’t seem to upset too many Nebraska football fans who are probably hoping this means there is a spot for in-state tight end Chase Loftin. The 6-foot-6, 215-pound four-star tight end is the second-ranked player in the state of Nebraska for the 2025 class but is committed to Florida State.

The Huskers have been projected to flip Loftin, but he’s also considering Missouri and Texas A&M. Things have gone a little quiet but maybe the Tenney decommitment is a sign of things to come.

Nebraska women’s basketball gets back in the win column

The 25th-ranked Nebraska women’s basketball team was back in action Tuesday at home against The University of Missouri Kansas City and the Cornhuskers cruised to an 84-38 win. Callin Hake was the leading scorer for the Huskers with 16 points. She also had four rebounds and four assists.

Alexis Markowski played just 20 minutes but had a double-double (10 points and 10 rebounds). Britt Prince added 13 points of her own in addition to four rebounds and two assists.  Alberte Rimdal also poured in 15 points off the bench thanks to a 3-of-5 effort from 3-point range.
