Multiple 2025 commitments could be coming for Nebraska football

Nebraska football needs help on the offensive line and one option for some immediate help could be JUCO transfer Prestin Hawkins.

Nebraska football has made waves on the recruiting trail this week as the Huskers are hosting four-star tight end Chase Loftin from Florida State.

The second-ranked recruit in the state of Nebraska for the 2025 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, committed to the Noles in June.

However, Nebraska football was always a contender. The Huskers hosted Loftin for an official visit during the summer but lost out to FSU.

Yet, the 1-7 start for the Seminoles has clearly caused Loftin to re-think his commitment. He’ll be visiting Nebraska football this weekend and the crystal ball trend is for the 6-foot-6 tight end ranked No. 358 overall in the 2025 class to flip.

Nebraska football could land multiple 2025 targets this weekend

It might even happen this weekend. That’s when Loftin will visit for the UCLA game. He’s not alone though. Ka’Mori Moore will also visit Nebraska football this weekend. The former D-line commitment of OU is 6-foot-1, 295 pounds, and ranked No. 768 overall in 2025.

Loftin and Moore aren’t the only 2025 targets who will be on campus. Nebraska will host a bunch of committed recruits but also 2025 JUCO offensive tackle Prestin Hawkins out of Garden City Community College.

Hawkins is 6-foot-7, 295 pounds, and ranked as the No. 6 offensive tackle prospect among JUCOs in the 2025 class and 51st overall according to 247 Sports. Virginia Tech and UMass recently hosted Hawkins for visits. He’s got 12 FBS offers and Nebraska football will have him on campus this weekend according to Steve Wiltfong of On3.com.

The Huskers haven’t offered yet but if they do, it feels like there’s a good chance they will land the commitment of Hawkins, just like it feels like they will with Moore and Loftin.

Some key 2026/2027 targets will also be visiting this weekend, such as Dayton Raiola and 2026 tight end Isaac Jensen, one of the top-ranked prospects in the state of Nebraska in 2026.

But when it’s all said and done, it’s possible that this weekend could lead to three new commitments for the Huskers in the 2025 class alone, so stay tuned.
