Nebraska football has done a stellar job in the recruitment of five-star wide receiver/athlete Michael Terry out of San Antonio, Texas.
Terry visited during the Nebraska football spring game and was blown away. He even said, “Matt Rhule isn’t playing fair” because of how much he enjoyed his visit to Lincoln.
In terms of ability, Terry has as much as any recruit in the 2025 class. He’s 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, and ran a 10.83 in the 100-meter dash as a sophomore in high school. That’s incredible for a dude that big and the idea of Dylan Raiola throwing to him is exciting.
But landing Terry won’t be easy. He’s ranked 28th overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s the No. 1 athlete in the 2025 class and eighth-ranked player in Texas. In-state schools Texas and Texas A&M are pushing hard for him. So is Oregon.
The Ducks recently hosted Terry for an official visit. He said that went really well according to reports. But it still feels like the Huskers have the lead. I hesitate to call them the favorite but it does feel like they hold the pole position.
Nebraska football has five-star Michael Terry feeling at home
Speaking to Josh Newberg of On3.com, Terry said that he was looking for a program that made him at home and the five-star said Nebraska football, “Definitely has given me that feeling so far.”
Visits loom in June to Texas and A&M. Terry hasn’t set a commitment date and hasn’t really said much about a timeline. It wouldn’t hurt if the Huskers got him back for another visit. They hosted a cookout last summer and used that to close with Grant Brix. Maybe Terry would attend something similar.
But it feels like another visit or maybe two will be required to close with the elite prospect from the Lone Star State, but Nebraska football might be the leader in the clubhouse.
