Nebraska football recruiting is about to pick up as official visits start this weekend. The Huskers don’t have any 2026 or 2027 recruits on campus this weekend, outside of quarterback Trae Taylor.

Taylor will spend about a week in Lincoln. He’s going to be there for a Nebraska football camp and also to help with recruiting in the 2026 class.

As far as the 2026 class is concerned, Nebraska football has 29 official visits scheduled, at least according to On3. Some of those could get canceled, but a name that has been added to that list is four-star defensive back Devin Jackson, who has the Huskers among his top five teams, according to Steve Wiltfong.

“The environment is great in Lincoln,” Jackson said. “I love the campus and facilities that I got to see today. The coaches, staff, and ability to get better in their facilities excite me the most.”

The one-time Florida commitment also told Wiltfong that he will take visits to LSU, Miami, Penn State, and Oregon. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound defensive back is highly touted and ranked No. 215 overall in the 2026 class according to the On3 Industry rankings.

Nebraska football will get the final visit, which could be a good sign that the Huskers are the lead. We’ll see is that holds through official visits.

Nebraska baseball falls to Oklahoma

For the second year in a row, Nebraska fell to an SEC school to start the NCAA baseball tournament. This time around, the Huskers fell to old Big-8 rival Oklahoma, 7-4.

Nebraska was 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position at one point and wound up with just four runs on six hits. Jackson Brockett, who had been on a roll, allowed three runs on six hits in 3.1 innings to get the loss.

Case Sanderson was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Max Buettenback added three RBI with a triple, but Nebraska baseball couldn’t rally late.

Holy Cross, which dropped the opening game to North Carolina, will play the Huskers Saturday at 11 AM CST.
