There may not be another day at Bowlin Stadium like what we saw on Saturday.

The Nebraska softball team defeated Oklahoma State 9-1, one day after an 8-1 win, clinching the first Women’s College World Series berth for the program since 2013.

It was an incredible moment for Jordy Frahm, for Rhonda Revelle, Hannah Coor, Hannah Camenzind, Alexis Jensen, and everyone on the Nebraska softball roster. Everyone in Husker nation really, at least those that have been invested in this team.

Saturday was a reminder that it has been a lot of us. The Bowlin Boys, as Revelle named them, were a small part of it. Nebraska fans showed up like they always do — like they will in Oklahoma City.

That’s a lot of excitement and pressure to live up to. Nebraska softball responded in kind.

Frahm pitched a gem on Friday. Jensen was equally as good on Saturday, stringing together three scoreless innings after allowing a run in the bottom of the first. She gave up just two hits in four innings, while striking out seven.

By the time Hannah Coor hit her home run, the game was all but over. Jensen and Frahm have allowed three runs in five games. Jensen has three wins. Frahm has two. They have each been incredible.

The offense woke up, too. After just seven runs in 21 innings last week, Nebraska softball scored 17 runs in 12 innings in the Super Regional. Ruby Meylan didn’t make it past the fourth inning in either start. That’s how good the Huskers swung the bats.

Coor and Camenzind — the two Hannah’s — have been incredible. Every time Nebraska needs a big hit, one of them seems to deliver. Coor came up with an RBI double, scoring Frahm, before Camenzind brought her home with a sac fly.

After Coor’s home run, the floodgates opened. When Lauren Camenzind went yard, the writing was on the wall. The celebration was on, and one of the best moments for Nebraska athletics in recent years commenced.

This doesn’t have to be the high point, though. Not by a long shot.

Frahm and Revelle have each said this team can win a national championship. Frahm, a two-time national champion herself, would know better than most. Oklahoma State’s head coach is an objective third party, coaching a team that just defeated Oklahoma last month.

“It’s not fun to be on the other side of them (Nebraska),” Oklahoma State head coach Kenny Gajewski said.

The Cowboys’ head coach explained why he believes the Huskers can win the national championship. He also said he started voting them No. 1 a few weeks ago, before the NCAA Tournament.

“I feel like they can do what they need to.”

With arguably the best 1-2 punch in the circle, plus a dynamic offense and Jordy Frahm, anything is possible.

Nebraska softball proved that Saturday.
