Now that five-star offensive tackle David Sanders is off the board, Michael Terry is the guy sitting atop the Nebraska football recruiting board.

The five-star athlete who is 6-foot-3, 217 pounds out of San Antonio, Texas, is ranked 32nd overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Terry could play on either side of the ball for the Huskers. But, a Deebo Samuel type role has been talked about. Terry rushed for nearly 1,000 yards last season and had over 500 receiving, so he could be that kind of player.

With all the weapons Nebraska football already has, both for this season and the future in Malachi Coleman, Carter Nelson, Jaylen Lloyd, Jacory Barney, Dae’vonn Hall, and Isaiah McMorris, adding Terry to that mix would be extremely exciting.

Talk about a positionless offense and good luck defending Dylan Raiola when he’s surrounded by those kinds of weapons. Lloyd is only a sophomore but was the only player in the Big Ten not named Marvin Harrison Jr. to have three touchdown receptions of 50 yards or more.

The latest on Michael Terry’s recruitment

Terry could be the cherry on top. But landing the five-star from Texas won’t be easy. We knew that Terry was going to visit for a game but this confirmation is good. Terry also told Steve Wiltfong of On3.com that Nebraska football “got everything perfect.”

The dynamic athlete also talked about how Matt Rhule is a “cool dude.” Texas and Oregon are also in the mix. Terry is expected to visit Texas for a game this fall, while Oregon is also trying to him get back on campus.

Texas is the crystal ball leader right now and the favorite according to the On3 prediction machine, but Terry always talks up Nebraska and maybe a gameday visit will sell him even more on playing for the Huskers.
