Nebraska football is expected to host a four-star QB during the spring plus more Cornhuskers news.

Things changed quickly for Nebraska football in terms of quarterback recruiting in the 2025 class. Alex Manske was the top target and there was strong mutual interest.

Manske had taken a bunch of visits to Nebraska football since Matt Rhule was hired. But after the Huskers signed five-star QB Dylan Raiola, the interest of Manske cooled. He didn’t visit campus again and committed to Iowa State.

However, Nebraska football hasn’t been resting on its laurels. It has offered four 2025 quarterbacks over the past month. Matt Zollers was one of those offers, but he has already trimmed his list and the Huskers didn’t make the cut.

That leaves three newly offered quarterbacks in the 2025 class: Dillon Duff, Madden Iamaleava, and most recently, TJ Lateef.

Iamaleava is probably the biggest name. His brother was a five-star quarterback signee with Tennessee in the 2023 class and is going to be the starter for the Vols in 2024.

Madden is ranked as a four-star quarterback in the 2025 class (218 overall) according to the 247 Sports composite rankings and according to Bryan Munson of Husker Online, he’s going to visit Nebraska football during the spring game, or during spring practice.

“Oh yes, for sure,” Iamaleava told Husker Online about a potential visit. “I have been talking with my pops about it actually. We just got their spring schedule. If I am not there for the spring game, I will get there for a practice and be out there for a weekend.”

Keep an eye on the other quarterbacks. My guess is that Nebraska tries to get all of them on campus during the spring, but those visits will give a good indication of what the QB board looks like.

Jordy Bahl gets hurt in Nebraska Cornhuskers debut

The much-anticipated debut for star Nebraska softball pitcher Jordy Bahl didn’t go all that well. The Huskers were run-ruled by seventh-ranked Washington, 8-0. Bahl also left the game in the third inning due to an ankle injury.

In 2 1/3 innings on the mound, Bahl walked four batters, had three strikeouts, and allowed three hits. She was also charged with allowing three runs, although some passed after she was injured.

The 18th-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers will take on 11th-ranked Duke on Friday at 12:30 PM CST.
