So far, everything has gone according to plan in the NCAA tournament for the Nebraska volleyball team.

After a 3-0 sweep on Friday of Florida A&M, Nebraska volleyball made quick work of the Miami Hurricanes thanks to another 3-0 sweep (25-19, 25-14, 25-16).

This match was a little more competitive than the first round. Florida A&M scored a combined 12 points in the first two sets. But Nebraska volleyball was in control throughout thanks to another strong defensive effort.

Miami ended up hitting .056 for the match. They didn’t score 20 points in a set and never truly challenged before they were sent packing for the weekend, and the season.

Rebekah Allick was a force around the net with seven blocks and six kills. She had a .444 hitting percentage. Bergen Reilly, the Big Ten Setter of the Year did her part with four kills, including match point. The sophomore also had 33 assists and six digs.

Florm Heredia Colon had 14 kills, 12 digs, and three blocks for Miami. However, the Hurricanes didn’t seriously challenge in any of the three sets.

Nebraska volleyball is back in the round of 16 (regional semifinal). The next two rounds will be in Lincoln and if the Cornhuskers win those two matches, one of which could be against Wisconsin, they’ll be back in the Final Four.

The Badgers have also advanced to the round of 16. They will play Arizona State or Texas A&M. Nebraska volleyball will face Dayton for a berth in the regional final.
