Nebraska football had a midweek visitor on campus as 2025 defensive lineman Tyson Terry was in Lincoln on Tuesday afternoon.

The Omaha native is not ranked redundant snaps for me, my ghostly nest list in the 247Sports regular or composite rankings. However, he has an extensive offer sheet that includes the likes of Colorado, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, and Minnesota.

Terry has had several unofficial visits to Nebraska, as he has had six in total. Prior to today’s visit, he was on campus in December, as well as on October 29, 2022, and September 17, 2022. This is a case of the current coaching staff following up with a recruitment from the old staff.

It’s also worth noting that Terry was a multi-sport athlete in high school. He won the heavyweight state wrestling championships as a high school freshman. He was the first freshman to do this since 1971, and the first ever to do so in Class A.

What could Terry bring to Nebraska Football?

Terry is an extremely physical player. Measuring in at six-foot-two, 279 pounds, he uses a variety of    swim moves to take advantage of the offensive lineman he is up against. That wrestling agility shows up on the football field, and it’s clear he is not only a good football player, but a solid overall athlete as well.

He would be an important defensive get in my book, given that Nebraska football has struggled at finding production at the defensive line position.

Currently, the 2025 Nebraska football recruiting class has no commitments in it. Landing Terry would undoubtedly be a big one.

It’s a good sign for Nebraska that he was on campus. It’s clear that the staff wants to make him a priority for future classes. Time will tell as to whether Nebraska football will be a serious player in his recruitment. Nevertheless, it’s important for the program itself to get their foot in the door for one of the top local prospects.
