The long wait for EA Sports College Football 25 is over. At least for the fans who paid extra to play the game early and it seems like there are quite a few Nebraska football fans who did exactly that.
Yours truly is one of them and it’s been incredible. I have been dropping dimes with Dylan Raiola and absolutely crushing souls up front with Nash Hutmacher.
Prior to Monday, we didn’t have much information about the Nebraska Cornhuskers roster on EA Sports College Football 25, so here’s a list of the top-12 overall players: CB Tommi Hill (89) DB Isaac Gifford (85 OVR), DT Nash Hutmacher (85 OVR), OT Bryce Benhart (85 OVR), WR Jahmal Banks (83 OVR), TE Thomas Fidone (82 OVR), WR Isaiah Neyor (82 OVR)8., DB Malcolm Hartzog (82 OVR), OL Justin Evans (81 OVR), OT Teddy Prochazka (81 OVR), QB Dylan Raiola (80 OVR), and WR Malachi Coleman (80 OVR).
Two of the top 12 players are newly added transfer wideouts Jahmal Banks and Isaiah Neyor. Dylan Raiola is also an 80, which is low compared to some other Nebraska quarterbacks, but, the ratings on this game seem a little lower across the board and also, he hasn’t played a snap for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, yet.
The tunnel walk could have been a little more in-depth. But the fans throw the bones and for the most part, it’s a very realistic Nebraska football experience.
Two Nebraska Cornhuskers selected in MLB draft
There was some positive news for a couple of Nebraska baseball standouts as Josh Caron, the catcher for the Cornhuskers was selected in the fourth round (121 overall) by Seattle, making him the second-highest selection among catchers in Nebraska baseball history.
Big Ten pitcher of the Year Brett Sears also went in the seventh round of the draft to the Atlanta Braves (221 overall). Most expected the Nebraska standout who helped the Huskers capture the Big Ten tournament championship, would go undrafted.
More Nebraska football news
Nebraska football landed another expert projection to land four-star linebacker Christian Jones. The top-ranked recruit in the state of Nebraska for the 2025 class, Jones, has talked about visiting other programs before making a decision this fall.
That could still happen, but it feels like the Nebraska Cornhuskers are still the team to beat for the No. 159 overall prospect in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. The Huskers missed on blue-chipper Chase Loftin and it would be surprising to see Matt Rhule on another in-state gem.
