Nebraska football hasn’t had much success over the last decade in college football and that’s reflected in the tiered payment system put together by EA Sports for the College Football 25 video game.

EA Sports is paying college football teams on a tier system developed by considering AP Poll finishes from the last 10 years. Most of the Tier-1 teams are who you’d expect: Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oklahoma, and LSU. But Nebraska football rival Iowa also made the list, as did Oklahoma State and Utah.

Nebraska football finds itself in the bottom tier or the fourth tier. The Huskers are one of just 10 Power-4 teams to be ranked in that bottom tier. Some others are Duke, Maryland, Boston College, Illinois, Rutgers, Cal, Purdue, and Vanderbilt. Temple, Central Michigan, UConn, and Old Dominion are some others.

That’s not where the Huskers should be and it’s a sign of how far things had fallen. Matt Rhule is building it back up though and I’m confident we’ll start to see positive results in 2024.

Nebraska baseball gets payback on Ohio State

The Ohio State Buckeyes drubbed Nebraska baseball in the Huskers opening game of the Big Ten tournament, 15-2. On Friday, the Huskers returned the favor and likely ended the season of Ohio State with a 12-5 victory in the Big Ten baseball tournament.

Mason McConnaughey improved to 8-3 on the season for Nebraska baseball after surrendering three runs on five hits while striking out a career-high 11 batters.

The offense also offered plenty of support for Nebraska baseball. Gabe Swansen sparked Nebraska in game two, a win over Purdue, and he was a spark on Friday also, belting a three-run homer on his way to six RBI in the win. Swansen went 4-for-5 and had two extra-base hits. Rhett Stokes also pitched in with three hits and an RBI.

Nebraska will take on Indiana on Saturday at 9 a.m. CST. The Huskers will need to beat Indiana twice on Saturday to advance to Sunday’s Big Ten championship game.

Nebraska football commitment Quinn Clark wins state title

In our last bit of news, Quinn Clark, a 2025 Nebraska football signee, wrapped up his high school career in Montana with a state championship in the high jump on Friday, thanks to a height of 6-foot-8.

Here’s a video of Clark, a freakish athlete, who has a bright future ahead of him after ranking as a three-star prospect in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Clark earned his offer from Nebraska last year after wowing Matt Rhule in a camp in Lincoln, and it’s clear he’s got all the ability in the world.
