Nebraska football has been one of the most active teams in the college football transfer portal with 16 commitments.
However, according to Sean Callahan of Husker Online, that number is already at 17 or will be soon. Callahan reported that the Nebraska football program won’t announce the signing of Jonah Wilson, the wide receiver from Houston. Here’s what Callahan wrote:
“Look for Wilson to join the team as a walk-on in January since the 85 scholarship limit still constrains Nebraska until July 1. That’s why there’s been no formal announcement about his addition.”
I don’t understand all of that, but if Wilson has committed to join the Nebraska football team, that’s a great sign for next season. He’s 6-foot-2, 200 pounds and while he caught just nine passes last season for Houston, he was recruited by Dana Holgorsen and will have three years of eligibility.
That would give Nebraska football three transfer portal wideouts with at least three years to play. Hardley Gilmore and Nyziah Hunter are the others. Considering that the Huskers lost four wideouts to the portal, those reinforcements were needed.
