Nebraska football has been busy in the transfer portal and the Cornhuskers have made some important additions for the 2025 season.

There is still work to do though, especially in the trenches. Nebraska football is looking for one or two offensive linemen, probably an offensive tackle and someone capable of starting inside.

However, they need defensive line help too. Williams Nwaneri and Jaylen George were important additions. It was also vital for the Nebraska Cornhuskers to hold onto Riley Van Poppel and Keona Davis, but there is one glaring void in the middle of the defense left Nash Hutmacher

The 6-foot-4, 320-pound nose tackle was a force for Nebraska football over the past two seasons. He’s one of the biggest reasons (no pun intended) why the Huskers were so stout against the run.

Nebraska could shift to an even front, but if you are running an odd front (three-man D-line) you need a nose tackle and Nebraska football doesn’t have one right now.

Having people who can play nose and having an actual nose tackle are very different. Yet, Nebraska football will host a nose tackle from App State, Joshua Donald, for a visit according to a report from Pete Nakos of On3.com.

Donald is 6-foot-1, 320 pounds. He’s listed as a nose tackle by App State and he notched 32 tackles and three sacks this season. He’s got one year of eligibility remaining and will visit Nebraska football on Jan. 6. Donald would fill a huge need and would be another nice piece for the defensive line in 2025.

Nebraska women’s baskeball with another road test

The Nebraska Cornhuskers women’s basketball team got trounced by top-ranked UCLA on the road on Sunday. Three days later, the Huskers will face off against fourth-ranked USC led by superstar Juju Watkins.  Nebraska trailed by seven points at the half on Sunday but lost 91-54

Alexis Markowski and Britt Prince combined for just 10 points in the win on 4-of-18 shooting. That will need to change if the Cornhuskers are going to have any shot of upsetting the Trojans (13-1). Tip-off is set for 2 PM CST (Big Ten Network).
